CULTIVATING HARMONY AND PROGRESS: Reflections on the International Day of Peace

True development, economic prosperity, and societal growth can not take root in an atmosphere of discord.

On this International Day of Peace, we are reminded that peace is not merely the absence of conflict but the active presence of justice, equity, and mutual respect. It is the bedrock upon which stable communities and thriving nations are built.

*In Abia State today, we are witnessing the dividends of peace-driven leadership*. *Under the focused and people-oriented administration of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, Abia has become a model of stability, fiscal discipline, and purposeful governance. From the restoration of workers' dignity through regular payment of salaries and pensions, to massive road reconstruction, improved security, and reforms that restore investor confidence, Governor Otti has proven that when peace is prioritized, progress becomes inevitable. His sterling performance is a testament to what purposeful leadership anchored on peace can achieve*.

In our cities, towns, and villages, sustainable progress demands that we choose dialogue over division and cooperation over conflict.

As your representative for Bende North State Constituency, I have remained committed to this ideal of peace as a catalyst for development. Through motions and legislative interventions on security, youth empowerment and rural development, through constituency engagements that promote unity across our communities, and through targeted support for education and small businesses, we have continued to translate peace into tangible dividends for our people. We will not relent in ensuring that Bende North remains a beacon of harmony and a partner in the New Abia project.

Peace is a collective responsibility. It begins in our homes and must echo outward into our communities and our nation.

As a servant-leader, I call on all of us to continue to champion unity and peaceful coexistence, and to support the transformative agenda of the Labour Party-led government in Abia State.

I wish my esteemed constituents of Bende North, the good people of Abia State, and all Nigerians a peaceful and reflective International Day of Peace.

Together, let us continue to build a stronger, more harmonious and prosperous Abia and Nigeria.
