 HON. IBEKWE NNAMDI CHIMDI - OZIOMACHI APPLAUDS  UNITED NATIONS RESOLUTION CONDEMNING SLAVERY. Hon. Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi, popularly known as OziomaChi, has officially applauded the recent United Nations resolution condemning the practice of slavery in all its forms. In his statement, Hon. Ibekwe emphasized that this global commitment marks a crucial victory for human dignity and universal human rights. He underscored that slavery remains a scar on the conscience of humanity and that such international consensus is vital to eradicating modern-day exploitation, human trafficking, and forced labor. Hon. Ibekwe further called upon local and regional stakeholders to align their policies with this UN mandate, ensuring that the principles of freedom, justice, and equality are not just celebrated in global chambers, but actively upheld in our communities to protect the most vulnerable. Court Rules That Nigerians Have Right to Video Police On Duty,  Awards N7m Damages for Rights Violation  The Federal High Court sitting in Warri, Delta State, has delivered a landmark ruling affirming that Nigerians have the constitutional right to record police officers while they carry out their duties in public. Delivering judgment on Tuesday in suit number FHC/WR/CS/87/2025, Justice H. A. Nganjiwa held that police officers must wear visible name tags, display their force numbers, and must not harass, intimidate, arrest, or seize devices from citizens documenting their activities. The court also awarded the applicant, Maxwell Uwaifo, N5 million in d@mages for the violation of his fundamental rights, alongside N2 million to cover litigation costs.
