OHANAEZE NDI IGBO, OLD BENDE CHARTER APPOINTS NEW EXECUTIVES AHEAD OF SEPTEMBER INAUGURATION.

Formidable team charged to unite Ndi Igbo and build a strong, vibrant chapter

The Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Worldwide, Bende LGA Chapter, has announced the appointment of a new 20-member Executive Committee to pilot its affairs. The formal inauguration of the chapter is expected to take place before the end of September 2025.

THE EXECUTIVE TEAM

The following leaders have been appointed to serve Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, Old Bende Chapter:

1. Chairman – Chief Agwu Okorie


A seasoned community leader and respected elder, Chief Agwu Okorie brings decades of leadership experience and grassroots mobilization to the chapter. Known for his integrity and wisdom, he is expected to steer the affairs of Old Bende Ohanaeze with a steady hand and clear vision.

2. Deputy Chairman – Chukwuma E. Egwuonwu


A dynamic leader with deep ties to the local community, he will provide strong support to the chairman in policy direction and implementation.

3. 1st Vice Chairman – Mr. Daniel Okeudo


A mobilizer and advocate for communal progress, Mr. Okeudo’s role is to strengthen outreach and sustain cohesion within the chapter.

4. 2nd Vice Chairman – Mr. Sunday Orji


A passionate grassroots organizer, he is known for bridging divides and rallying people toward common goals.

5. Secretary – Barr. Okezie Obioma


An accomplished legal mind, Barr. Obioma will ensure the smooth running of the chapter’s secretariat with professionalism and accountability. His legal background is an asset for order, documentation, and governance.

6. Assistant Secretary – Ezeogo Clabel Onuegbu


A traditional title holder with strong cultural roots, he brings balance between modern administration and Igbo traditions.

7. Financial Secretary – Dr. Ukoh Igbokwe


A well-respected technocrat and financial expert, Dr. Igbokwe is poised to oversee transparent and prudent financial management.

8. Assistant Financial Secretary – Madam Onyinyechi Uche


A committed woman leader with organizational skills, she strengthens the financial team.

9. Treasurer – Madam Nkiru Okoro


Trusted and reliable, Madam Okoro’s attention to detail makes her well suited to handle treasury matters.

10. Publicity Secretary – Mr. Chinedu Xtova Ngaranwere


A communications strategist, he will ensure that the voice of Old Bende Ohanaeze is heard far and wide, promoting unity and positive image.

11. Assistant Publicity Secretary – Amb. Dr. Onwuka K. Okorie


A diplomat, writer, and social advocate, Dr. Okorie brings expertise in communication, diplomacy, and public engagement.

12. Organizing Secretary – Mr. Chima C. Agu


A grassroots strategist with energy and vision, he will drive mobilization efforts.

13. Assistant Organizing Secretary – Mr. Ukwu Friday


Known for his teamwork and loyalty, he adds support to organizing structures.

14. Woman Leader – Madam Nnenna Chukwu


A voice for women and mothers, Madam Chukwu’s leadership ensures that women’s concerns are prioritized and addressed.

15. Assistant Woman Leader – Madam Elizabeth Adighibe


Passionate about community service, she strengthens the women’s wing of the chapter.

16. Youth Leader – Mr. Sunday Asonye


A vibrant and fearless youth advocate, he represents the strength, innovation, and resilience of Bende youths.

17. Assistant Youth Leader – Hon. Onuoha Ndukwe Onuoha


A political mobilizer and youth mentor, he complements the youth leadership team.

18. Welfare Officer – Mr. Uchechukwu Donatus Offia


Compassionate and community-driven, he ensures members’ welfare is well managed.

19. Legal Adviser – Barr. Udenwa Christian


An experienced lawyer, he provides legal guidance and protects the chapter’s integrity.

20. Assistant Legal Adviser – Barr. Nkemakolam Akabuogu


A young legal mind with fresh perspective, he complements the legal advisory role.

These executives reflects balance, inclusivity, and the true spirit of the Igbo slogan: “Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo! Igwe bu Ike!”

Speaking on the significance of this development, Elder Onyedikachi Iroegbu Samuel, 2nd Vice President of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, Abia State, congratulated the executives and gave them a charge:

> *Cheta nu na igwe bu ike. Biko nu, onye aghala nwanneya.”*

(Remember that strength lies in unity. Please, let no one abandon his brother or sister.)

This reminder underscores the collective responsibility of the new executive to foster inclusiveness, unity, and purposeful service for the benefit of Ndi Igbo in Old Bende and beyond.

The appointments come at a time when Abia State, under the leadership of Dr. Alex C. Otti, is undergoing rapid transformation. The Old Bende Chapter is expected to replicate this momentum by consolidating its structures, engaging stakeholders, and projecting a stronger voice for Ndi Igbo.

The people of Old Bende and Abia State at large eagerly anticipate the inauguration ceremony later this month, confident that this formidable team will usher in a new era of unity and cultural advancement.
