The newly nominated Executive Committee of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, Bende Local Government Area Chapter, has officially commenced its activities with a highly successful inaugural meeting held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at GraceLand Hotel, Uzuakoli.

The meeting was well attended by members from various communities in Bende, underscoring the trust and collective hope vested in the new leadership.

In his opening remarks, the Chapter Chairman, Mazi Peter Agwu Okorie, commended the steadfastness of members and reiterated the readiness of the new executives to uphold the values of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo—values rooted in unity, inclusiveness, and the pursuit of progress for all. He emphasized that the new administration is committed to building bridges, promoting peace, and ensuring that the voice of Bende remains strong within the larger Igbo nation.

The deliberations at the meeting were described as smooth, constructive, and forward-looking, focusing on strategies to strengthen cultural identity, promote youth and women participation, and foster sustainable development across Bende.

Speaking after the session, the Deputy Chairman Hon. Chukwuma E. Egwuonwu remarked:

“This is not just an inaugural meeting; it is the beginning of a renewed journey of service. We are determined to work together as one family because truly, Igwe Bu Ike—our strength is in unity.”

The gathering ended on a note of thanksgiving, as members expressed deep appreciation to God Almighty for His guidance and for granting journey mercies to all participants who traveled from near and far.

The inauguration of the Bende Chapter executives signals the dawn of a new chapter of purposeful leadership, unity, and service. With clear vision and shared commitment, the Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Bende LGA Chapter stands ready to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of not only Bende, but the entire Igbo nation.
